Unpacking from 10 Days in Tanzania
July 15th, 2009 | Posted by Jonathan ShradarMalaria Policy Center Director Mark Green and I returned this week after ten days in Tanzania working to build partnerships for awareness campaigns and see work being done first hand.
It was a full week and we have lots to share with you, as we have been doing over the last week. Keep an eye on malariapolicycenter.org for new updates and videos from the trip and to catch up let’s review what we’ve shared so far.
A big part of the trip was the celebration of Novartis’ 250 millionth dose of Coartem, and anti-malaria drug. Paired with that announcement was Novartis joining United Against Malaria, a partnership to raise awareness and use World Cup Soccer as a platform to spread the word.
We also had a great conversation with some government leaders about building a larger policy maker coalition.
I visited a Youth Council with the great team from Save the Children. And we have put some pictures up on our Flickr page.
There is much more to come as we fully “unpack,” we will look at tapping into interfaith networks, reveal some great success stories and think about students as a way to combat malaria, so stayed tuned and relive the journey with us.
