The Malaria Policy Center’s Wendy Taylor had the awesome opportunity to teaching students at a local DC school about the importance of fighting malaria a world away and how they could have an impact.

Cornerstone Schools held a week long malaria fundraising competition between classes that had invited guests to tell students about the work we do against malaria. Wendy taught students about sleeping under a bed net and how even they could save a family by raising money for bed nets.

The school, made up of students from disadvantaged families, raised over $300 for bed nets, and the top two fundraising classes got to throw a pie in the Principal’s face! What a great story of a new generation of malaria fighters ready to take on the disease!
