The President's Malaria Initiative
The President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) represents an historic five-year expansion of U.S. Government resources to fight malaria in Africa which is most affected by the disease. President George W. Bush launched this initiative with the goal of reducing malaria-related deaths by 50 percent in 15 focus countries. The program continues to recieve financial support from the last presidential administration, as well as the current, along with Congress.

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
The Global Fund is an organization that works closely in collaboration with other bilateral and multilateral organizations to support existing efforts dealing with HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. The Global Fund is the main source of finance for programs fighting theses three diseases, contributing three quarters of all international financing for malaria. The Global Fund enables countries to strengthen health systems by making improvements to infrastructure and providing training to those who deliver services.
