Senator Wicker and Senator Coons to Co-Chair the Senate Working Group On Malaria
Great news from the Senate earlier this month. Senators Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) announced that they will co-chair a bipartisan Senate Working Group on Malaria to raise Congressional awareness of U.S. efforts to stem the tide of malaria across the globe.

Scientists Make Transgenic Fungus To Fight Malaria
Scientists from Britain and the United States inserted the genes of human antibodies or scorpion toxins into a fungus called Metarhizium anisopliae that infects mosquitoes. They found that certain combinations of them were able to stop the development of malaria-causing parasites in the mosquitoes.
