What Makes This Time Different?

ziemerOn September 16th, in the Capitol, malaria advocates from the NGO, government and faith communities came together to talk about what makes the most recent efforts against malaria different from all those previous.

The world has been battling malaria for countless centuries and never quite been able to defeat the disease entirely. This time, the world has united from governments to faith communities to the private sector and everything in between. We have seen incredible results over the past ten years and it is estimated that we can save 3 million more lives if we continue to provide leadership and resources to the malaria fight.

Mark Green Speaks about the Latest Report on the Progress in the Fight Against Malaria

Mark greenOn September 14th, Mark Green delivered comments applauding the most recent report on the fantastic progress that is being made against malaria and the future impact continued investment could have in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

It is estimated that 750,000 children have been saved in 34 African countries over the past 10 years because of malaria interventions. We must continue to work towards the 2015 goal of ending malaria deaths and if we do so, we can save 3 million more lives.

Ramadan and a Call to Action

During the Muslim month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from food, drink, and marital relations during the daylight hours. Ramadan is a time for transformation and spiritual cleansing, to reprioritize where one is in his or her life, where her or she wants to be, and how that is being reflected in his or her actions.
