Chris Coons

Senator Chris Coons is the Co-Chair of the Senate Working Group on Malaria for the 112^th Congress. Senator Coons represents the state of Delaware and serves on a number of committees, notably the Foreign Relations Committee and is chair of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on African Affairs. His interest in Africa was strengthened during college, when Senator Coons studied abroad at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. Senator Coons now leads the malaria fight as Co-Chair of the Senate Working Group on Malaria, recognizing that this is a valuable investment for the U.S. to make, and that no person need die from a preventable and treatable disease.
