Rajiv Shah

Dr. Rajiv Shah has championed malaria as Administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Since taking over the role of USAID Administrator in 2009, Shah has become a champion for the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and helped PMI expand into Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Dr. Shah has also previously served as the Director of Strategic Opportunity for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as the Deputy Director of Policy and Finance for the Global Health Program. In these roles, Dr. Shah created new and innovative programming, such as the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, and the International Finance Facility for Immunization, which helped raise more than $5 billion for child immunization.
